Digitalization is also playing an increasingly important role in the Content Production & Global Sales segment:
- Digitalization expands the production market: The TV market in the US has also grown as a result of digitalization. An average US household can now receive 189 TV stations; in 2008 it was just 129. This has significantly increased the number of program buyers. At the same time, the ranks of the clients have been risen by the operators of multinational streaming platforms like Amazon and Netflix. The group of potential customers for Red Arrow Entertainment Group in the US has thus been considerably expanded. Currently, Red Arrow already is producing the third season of the crime series “Bosch” for Amazon, for instance. Against this backdrop, the ProSiebenSat.1 subsidiary is therefore increasingly directing its strategic focus onto the US market – including with regard to acquisitions. In addition, the Group is increasingly digitalizing its portfolio. Red Arrow’s investments in recent months have included the foundation of Ripple Entertainment. The US company produces digital entertainment content.
