Digitalization and Economic Growth

Since 2009, we have been vigorously promoting this digital advancement of our Company. To this end, ProSiebenSat.1 has set clear financial targets for all business segments that reflect our vision: By 2018, we want to increase consolidated revenues by EUR 1.85 billion to around EUR 4.2 billion. Every segment, Broadcasting German-speaking as well as Digital & Adjacent and Content Production & Global Sales, will contribute to this. The Digital & Adjacent segment with the rapidly growing Ventures & Commerce portfolio is particularly dynamic; it is expected to grow by EUR 1.2 billion in the medium term and thus achieve the highest profitable revenue growth. At the same time, we are planning recurring EBITDA of around EUR 1.1 billion at Group level; this is an increase of EUR 350 million on 2012. These targets for financial growth are derived from our strategy and are therefore also linked to the Group-wide remuneration model: EBITDA is not only an important performance indicator for the management of the Group and its segments, but is also part of the performance-related compensation system for our employees. The Group’s EBITDA and the external revenues and EBITDA of the Digital & Adjacent segment likewise serve as a variable basis for the assessment of the compensation of the Executive Board. We thus underscore the sustainability of our business.
