About this Report
“Our Responsibility” is ProSiebenSat.1 Group’s first separate report encompassing all dimensions of sustainability and the major areas of action for the Group. Together with the 2015 Annual Report, this publication provides a comprehensive description of our performance on the basis of financial and non-financial information. We published a public value report most recently in 2014, which mainly related to our social and public engagement.
The content of this report was defined on the basis of a materiality assessment carried out for the first time. The report is aligned to the fourth generation (G4) guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). In future, we are aiming towards reporting in accordance to the GRI ‘core’ option. When defining the report content, we kept in mind the principles of “stakeholder inclusiveness,” “sustainability context,” “materiality” and “completeness.” We took general sustainability information and sector-specific disclosures according to the Sector Supplement for the media sector as a basis and prioritized them with regard to their relevance to ProSiebenSat.1’s business model.
The content priorities thus derived are divided into five areas of action: “Public Value,” “Governance and Compliance,” “Digitalization and Innovation,” “Climate and Environmental Protection” and “Employees and Diversity.” The report focuses on the aspects that are material in the ProSiebenSat.1 value chain.
The CO2 emissions that comprise our carbon footprint (scope 1, scope 2 and selected scope 3 categories) for 2015 were also subjected to an independent audit with limited assurance by KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft on the basis of the ISAE 3000 and ISAE 3410 standards relevant to such audits.
This report, “Our Responsibility,” encompasses the valid scope of consolidation of ProSiebenSat.1 Group as of the end of financial year 2015 and was published on September 1, 2016. The reporting period covers financial year 2015 and part of 2016: The key figures generally relate to December 31, 2015; the financial data were taken from the 2015 Annual Report unchanged and refer to the continued operations. The editorial deadline for the actions and projects mentioned in the report was July 31, 2016. The next sustainability report is expected to be published in the first half of 2017. The report was published in both German and English and an online version is also available. In the interests of readability, the report uses the generic masculine form, but this should always be taken to refer to persons of both genders.
